An off-duty security guard was found bleeding to death in his car outside the West Philadelphia bar where he used to work late Wednesday night, according to Philadelphia police.
Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said officers rushed to 62nd Street and Market Street around 11:30 p.m. and found evidence of shootings, but no shooting victims.
While police were investigating, they learned that a man in his 30s had arrived at a nearby hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators found at least 14 shots fired near the intersection, Small said.
Witnesses told police the man was in the driver’s seat of his vehicle when someone approached the car and opened fire through the car window. took the man to the hospital.
Police were told the shooting victim was off-duty inside a bar where he worked as a security guard. Witnesses told police that the shooter also appeared to have been inside the bar before the shooting.
Police said the two did not appear to have been at the bar together. And the shooter didn’t seem to be a regular at the store.
Surveillance cameras captured the shooter’s actions before shooting and the actual shooting outside, Small said.

As of early Thursday, no arrests had been made.
