Bengaluru: Security guard waiting for food parcel killed after car rams into pavement – The Indian Express

A 59-year-old security guard who was waiting to pick up a food parcel outside a eatery in northern Bengaluru died Monday night after a speeding car crashed into people standing outside his hotel.By police. And initial investigations suggest that the driver of the car was intoxicated at the time.

At around 11:45 pm on October 10, outside the Durga Military Hotel on Kodigehari Main Road, ex-military security guard JR Ravishankar Rao was waiting to receive a food parcel. .

The Hyundai Santoro car involved in the accident was driven by a man identified as B Poovaiah, an employee of a private company, police said.

Rao died from injuries sustained in the accident, while several others were injured, including Pouvaiah. The injured were identified as Manjunath, Raghavendra, Naveen B and Prakash M. Raghavendra is an employee of the Durga Military Hotel.

Several motorcycles parked outside the hotel were also damaged. Hebbal traffic police have registered a complaint filed by his JR Vinod Rao, the 33-year-old son of the deceased security guard.
