The suspect was arrested early Thursday morning after leading officers on what was described as a “slow-speed chase” in Sacramento County. was threatened with a knife. Around 2 a.m., a security guard approached the suspect, who threatened to shoot him. A sheriff’s deputy was in the area at the time, and the suspect was leading the sheriff’s deputy in a “slow pursuit,” the sheriff’s office said. The chase ended when the sheriff’s office deployed spike strips. The agent and the suspect were involved in a stalemate for about an hour before the suspect finally surrendered, officials said. The suspect is currently in custody.Southbound Manzanita Avenue was closed pending an investigation and then reopened.The northbound Manzanita Avenue from Lincoln to The Winding Way remains closed.
