The defendant is said to have committed the crime on December 28, 2022 at approximately 5:00 pm at the Owo Regional Council, Ondo Province, Ute.
It was collected that sympathizers immediately took the bloodied victim to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead two days later.

Adewole, the brother of the deceased who reported the incident to police, said: N700.

“I didn’t believe it until I saw Duro’s body in the morgue. The accused is known throughout the city.” The crime violated sections 319 and 355 of the Penal Code. 37, Vol. II, Ondo State Act, 2006.

Police prosecutor Augustin Omhenemhen has asked the court to remand the defendant pending the outcome of advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
