A 58-year-old security guard was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting an underage girl in Acorn, south Mumbai, police said Thursday.
The alleged incident occurred Wednesday afternoon when an 11-year-old girl went to class, officials said.
Since she was alone, security guards took her to a secluded area and sexually assaulted her.
Based on a complaint filed by the girl’s mother at the Dongri Police Station, the defendant was arrested and charged with rape and charged under the relevant provisions of the Act on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses, he said. .
