The cavalry is searching for a man suspected of assaulting a security guard at a business in Penticton on Monday night.
A loss prevention officer confronted the man about alleged shoplifting at a Green Avenue store around 9 p.m., police said, according to a press release.
“During this exchange, the man reportedly beat (the loss prevention officer) and attempted to stab him with scissors,” the RCMP said.
“The suspect started out in a dark-colored late-model Chevrolet sedan.”
According to the RCMP, the suspect was between the ages of 30 and 35, had short brown hair and a beard, and was wearing a letterman-style jacket, red hat, and glasses.
