St. Ann, Jamaica – A police corporal was arrested Friday at a hotel in Runaway Bay in St. Ann after he was drunk and pointed a gun at a security guard.
The information that reached OBSERVER ONLINE is that a police officer assigned to the Serious Investigation Division was drinking on the hotel grounds in the afternoon.
He allegedly became inebriated and began acting inappropriately before being confronted by security. According to reports, the corporal pointed a gun at the guards and others after confronting them.
The hotel’s security manager then reportedly intervened, confiscating the officers’ guns and summoning the Runaway Bay Police.
When the police arrived, the firearms were handed over to them and the corporal was handcuffed and taken to the Runaway Bay Police Station.
It was unclear until publication whether the officers were charged.
