houston – Charges have been filed against a security guard who shot a reckless driver in the parking lot of a bar in southeast Houston and accidentally killed an innocent woman, police said.

More than a year after Ada Aguilar was shot, 28-year-old Moises Castillo was arrested and charged with murder.

The tragedy occurred on November 14, 2021, at Block 11500, Fuqua Road.

Around 3 a.m., a black truck driver was eating donuts in a nightclub parking lot when he was struck by several cars, injuring at least two people, according to Houston police.

Castillo was reportedly one of several armed guards on duty at the time. Police said he fired at the truck and one of his stray bullets inadvertently hit Aguilar, who was driving down the street at the time.

She was already dead when police arrived on the scene. Aguilar was 47 years old.

After a lengthy investigation, Castillo was subsequently indicted.

He was arrested without incident on Monday by members of the HPD’s Fugitive Serious Criminal Arrest Team.
