EAGLE-EYED NFL fans were worried after seeing a security guard go down awkwardly chasing a pitch invader during a game between the Rams and the 49ers.
Rams linebacker Bobby Wagner quickly put an end to the on-field fiasco at Levi’s Stadium by knocking fans to the floor.
Midway through the second quarter of Monday Night Football, spectators rushed through the home end zone onto the field.
Protesters, who are reportedly animal rights activists, were waving pink smoke grenades as security guards rushed to keep players away.
But there was no need to worry. His two players for the Rams are taking matters into their own hands.
Backed by tackerist McKinley, Wagner quickly stopped a free reign around the field by carrying the invaders on his back.
But it was just before that that caught the attention of some fans, including US sprinting hero Michael Johnson.
The Olympian uploaded footage of an intruder ripping from a security guard. The guard appeared to have fallen violently with his foot caught in the grass.
Johnson captioned the video, “This idiot messes up the game.
“But look at the black guy at the top of the screen, hurting himself (ACL?) trying to stop him! Shit!”
And fans agreed with Johnson, and many expressed their sympathy for the victims.
One person said, “Yeah, I feel sorry for the man in black. I really hope he’s not hurt too much.”
Another added, “I’m thinking of an Achilles tendon rupture.”
And a third said, “Ouch. I hope the man in black is okay.”
That was the end of a disappointing visit to San Fran for the Rams, who started the season in their own Super Bowl-winning shadow.
Matthew Stafford was sacked seven times and failed to throw a touchdown as LA lost 24-9.
The loss puts them 2-2 in the new NFL season, next at home to the Dallas Cowboys.
